Catalyze’s
Approach to
Learning
The dashboard reflects our learning in action, most directly connected to our work with grantees. It brings together key inputs, outputs, and early outcomes from across our portfolio.
While not comprehensive—and still evolving—it represents an important step in strengthening transparency, consistency, and shared understanding of impact. As our data systems and partnerships continue to mature, this dashboard will evolve alongside them.

At Catalyze, learning is not a one-time activity. It is an ongoing process that connects data, reflection, and action to strengthen how we invest, partner, and build the field.
As a relatively new organization, we did not begin with perfect data systems or full visibility into impact. Instead, we have built—and continue to refine—our strategic learning approach alongside our grantees and funders. Our commitment is to evolve in real time, continuously improving how we collect, interpret, and use data to make better decisions.
We put this into practice by using timely data to reflect, adapt, and take action.
Our approach is grounded in continuous learning cycles that connect evaluation, data, and reflection directly to decision making and strategy. These cycles allow us to refine our thinking over time, sharpen our approach, and respond to what we are learning in real time. Over time, Catalyze will integrate deeper qualitative and quantitative insights, case studies, and cross-site learning to better understand how career-connected experiences translate into meaningful opportunities—helping build a stronger, learner-centered career-connected ecosystem where young people can thrive.

To guide our multi-year learning efforts, we focus on three interconnected areas:
Catalyze’s Organizational Strategy & Processes: We seek to understand how Catalyze’s strategy and internal operations position the organization to be effective and responsive. This includes exploring which aspects of our current strategy are working well, where refinements or new approaches may be needed, and how Catalyze’s areas of focus align with the evolving needs and opportunities in the field.
Grantees’ Operations, Capacity & Support: We seek to understand how grantee partners are implementing their programs and models and what they are learning along the way. This includes examining the ways that Catalyze’s grants and supports foster organizational learning, capacity building, and program quality, while also highlighting how grantees apply new insights to strengthen their impact.
Field-Level Impact & Knowledge Sharing: We seek to understand the influence of our collective efforts, alongside our partners, on the broader field. This includes identifying emerging impacts and early indicators of change as well as learnings and promising practices. We aim to share our insights with the field so that others may benefit.
