Catalyze
Pittsburgh
Challenge
Catalyze Pittsburgh is looking for bold innovative ideas that connect young people to the region’s emerging industries and occupations (EIO). Every proposed career-connected learning experience must be directly aligned to an EIO and help young people ages 11–18 explore these evolving career opportunities, discover their interests and strengths, and connect their passions to fulfilling future pathways. Organizations serving young people in Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Washington, and Westmoreland counties are invited to apply.
Emerging industries are new or rapidly growing sectors driven by technological innovation, such as biotechnology, aerospace, robotics, and artificial intelligence.
Emerging occupations are new roles, or existing roles that are changing significantly, as technological innovations reshape how work is performed and the skills employers require.
Selected applicants will be awarded funding of up to $15,000 to refine their idea and prepare a competitive application for implementation funding.
Organizations selected after the planning period will be awarded implementation-focused funding of up to $350,000 for projects lasting 12-24 months.
Applications open September 22. Please see the full Application Guide for more details.
