Catalyze Challenge Launches $4 Million National Competition to Expand Career-Connected Learning for Young People
Today, the Catalyze Challenge announced the launch of Round 5, a multi-phase national funding opportunity designed to support bold, early-stage ideas that help young people explore careers, build real-world skills, and discover their purpose. With $4 million in grants and awards, Round 5 aims to expand access to high-quality career-connected learning (CCL) pathways in communities across the country.
Since 2021, Catalyze has awarded more than $17 million to over 65 initiatives through national and regional challenges, with a positive impact on more than 63,000 learners. Round 5 continues this momentum with a focus on two themes:
Career Exploration for Young Adolescents, empowering middle and high school students to discover interests, build agency, and imagine their futures through hands-on, student-driven experiences.
Meaningful Work-Based Learning Through Employer Partnerships, connecting learners with employer co-designed opportunities that build technical and professional skills aligned with today’s workforce needs.
“Career-connected learning is essential to preparing today’s students for tomorrow’s opportunities. Round 5 is designed to elevate bold new ideas and give innovators the tools, resources, and coaching needed to transform their concepts into scalable programs.”
Through this challenge, Catalyze invites educators, nonprofits, employers, and community organizations to design or expand career-connected learning ecosystems that meet the needs of diverse learners. Participants will receive access to technical assistance, learning workshops, expert coaching, and collaborative cohort experiences. Semi-finalists will receive $10,000 incubation stipends, and finalists will be eligible for implementation grants of up to $300,000.
